Louisiana Applications Accepted November 15 Through March 15
SHREVEPORT, La. (November 13, 2024) – Whether it’s a payment plan, a payment extension or average monthly payments, SWEPCO is committed to supporting its customers during the winter months.
Eligible customers in Louisiana can apply for assistance to pay their winter heating bills through the federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Applications for winter heating assistance will be accepted from November 15 to March 15, or until funds are depleted.
To apply, visit the Louisiana Housing Corporation to find an administering agency near you. Assistance is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. LIHEAP is designed to assist a wide range of households facing challenges with heating costs. While many of those receiving assistance have young children, elderly residents, veterans, or individuals with disabilities, the program is open to anyone who meets the eligible criteria.
“LIHEAP is an essential resource for our customers during the colder months,” said Brett Mattison, SWEPCO president. “We encourage anyone who may be facing challenges with their heating bills to explore this program and other resources we offer to help manage seasonal expenses.”
At SWEPCO, we are here to help. If you or someone you know is having difficulty with heating costs, please visit www.swepco.com/billhelp for more information on financial assistance options. Just answer a few questions and we’ll provide every customer with options. Our goal is to ensure that all our customers have the support they need to get through the winter.
