Shanda Hunter has been named Arkansas State Government Affairs Manager, effective October 12. Hunter takes over from Bradley Hardin, who retired July 1, following a career with SWEPCO that spanned more than four decades.

Stacks and boiler of the old plant are being dismantled to pave the way for future development at the decommissioned facility in Hallsville, Texas.

Eligible SWEPCO customers in Arkansas and Louisiana can get help to pay summer cooling bills through funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program until Sept. 30 or until funds are depleted. Customers in Texas can apply year-round or until funds are depleted.
