James Bass

Director, Business Operations

James Bass is SWEPCO's Director of Business Operations Support. He is responsible for the company's financial planning and performance, and coordinating with other AEP organizations that impact financial and operating results.

Bass began his career in SWEPCO's call center as a telephone service representative and his service to our customers and our internal clients remained a hallmark of his work.

Bass has held and excelled in a variety of roles and those experiences, and his unique understanding of our business are part and parcel to his analysis and support for SWEPCO.

After first joining as a call center representative, he grew his skills and expanded to other roles including administration, engineering technician, distribution line specialist, reliability manager, manager of planning and analysis at Dolet Hills mine, among other roles.

Bass earned his Bachelor of Science in Management from the University of Phoenix and went on to earn his Master of Business Administration from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport.
