On Tuesday, July 16, SWEPCO leadership hosted members of Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry’s policy team to learn more about the company, its involvement in economic development in the region and regulatory hurdles as demand for available power grows.
"Welcoming the Governor’s policy team was a crucial step in aligning our economic development goals with state priorities," said Eric Basinger, Economic and Business Development Manager. "By working together, we can create a more robust and dynamic economic landscape for Louisiana."
In addition to Basinger, those in attendance included: Michael Corbin, External Affairs Manager-Louisiana; Tom Brice, Vice President of Regulatory & Finance; Paul Pratt, Director of Customer Services and Marketing; Andrew
Kilshaw, Policy Advisor, Office of the Governor, State of Louisiana; Austin Lewis, Policy Advisor, Office of the Governor, State of Louisiana; Justyn Dixon, President and Chief Executive Officer, North Louisiana Economic Partnership; Angie White, Chief Operating Officer, North Louisiana Economic Partnership; and Megan Delgado, Project Manager, North Louisiana Economic Partnership.
The policy team is visiting all areas of the state and were hosted by North Louisiana Economic Partnership in Northwest Louisiana. The group made stops at the Port of Caddo-Bossier, Biomedical Research Foundation, SLB, Cyber Innovation Center, Benteler Steel, Barksdale Air Force Base, Bossier Parish Community College and the Bossier and Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce.
Information gathered during these tours will be communicated to Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry to assist with shaping priorities for the coming year.
The visit highlighted not only SWEPCO's role in regional development but also reinforced the shared commitment to advancing Louisiana's economic growth.
