“To make their home more energy-efficient, they want to look at high-efficiency technology such as air source heat pumps, heat pump water heaters and enhanced insulation … to help reduce energy consumption, which ultimately results in a lower utility bill,” Abmas said.

SWEPCO’s New Home Program offers a variety of incentives, including cash rebates for features such as high-efficiency air-source heat pumps, enhanced insulation, and induction cooktops. These incentives can significantly reduce the overall cost of building a new home.

“We offer up to $4,000 in monetary incentives for these high-efficiency homes. There are also tax incentives that customers can utilize,” Abmas added.

Homeowners can qualify for incentives by incorporating energy-efficient features such as advanced HVAC systems, energy-efficient lighting, and smart home technologies into their new construction.
